Meet Hameed Hemmat

First off I want to thank god for surrounding myself with a great family and a great group of friends (who are my family as well) who have supported me throughout my journey. I would not be where I am today without their support.

The purpose of this blog, HammedHemmat.com, is to share with you not only my experiences and lesson learned in business, but also my continuous journey towards creating success in all areas of life, as well as making an impact on our planet that will live on for generations to come.

You see I started my career off at the age of 21 in the direct sales industry.  I was a young 21 year old who didn’t know jack about anything. I had this lottery mentality, thinking I was going to get rich with minimal effort. Didn’t happen. Far from it!

I always wanted to get rich, but it never dawned upon me that in order for me (or anyone) to become massively successful I had to be willing to ADD VALUE to people’s lives. I had to learn how to connect and understand people.  I had to learn how to solve people’s problems and improve their lives.

I spent 8 years building my direct sales business all over the country. I ended up spending 5 years building my business in New York City. Those years were the greatest 5 years of my life. I’ll tell you why: When you are building a business on an island with 9 million people, you are going to learn a lot about people. You are going to meet people from all walks of life and in business I believe this is crucial.

To be successful as an entrepreneur you want to be well rounded.  I believe part of being well rounded is being able to connect with people of all different backgrounds, attitudes, and personalities. That comes with experience.

There’s no greater city that I know of that will give you help you gain this experience in the shortest amount of time than New York City. Trust me. If you want to develop your people skills, go move to New York City and spend at least a year or 2 there. Just my opinion!

Anyhow along with my direct sales business I also got into a few other business ventures that really went south. Long story short by 2007 I had run out of money. One of my businesses went very south and had put me in debt about $80k. I was so pissed because that debt was not even my debt per se.

My business partner in our car stereo business (one of my business ventures) put a few cars and credit cards in my name without my consent. Next thing you know I have creditors blowing up my phone.

I gotta tell you, 2007 was on of the worst years of my life at the time, but really was probably the best year of my life. I’ll tell you why in a little bit, but let me finish with what happened in 07’.

So here I am building this network marketing, direct sales business with this company that I believed in, but wasn’t making much money. Then my other business, or shall I say my business partner, puts us out of business and puts me $80k in debt. The guy is nowhere to be found.

Now it’s 2007 and I have run out of money trying to build my business in New York City living off of 2 junior whoppers per day. At that time I didn’t think things could get worse, but boy was I wrong.  Sometimes in life we truly don’t make changes or start to pay attention to the things that matter until tragedy strikes.

In July of 2007 I got a phone from my cousin back home in California. He called me at 6am my time to let me know that our grandfather, the man who helped raise me, had passed away in my parents’ home in California. I wanted to fly back to see his body for the last time and pay my respects, but I couldn’t because I did not have enough money to buy a plane ticket to fly home for the funeral.

What was even worse was that I had to lie to my family and tell them that I had events to go and that my business was growing (even though it wasn’t).  I lied to avoid telling them the truth that I had failed in my business and I did not have enough money to fly back. I had too much pride to be be honest about my failure and that pride cost me everything.  It even cost me my reputation with my extended family.

I looked like a pretty terrible person in their eyes. Of course my parents were super supportive, but the rest of the family was not too happy about me not being there. At that point in my life I was very upset with myself, and I felt like I was in hell. I’m sure there are many people that have gone through way worse, but for me this was bad enough. This experience forced me to make changes, especially with myself.

The first thing I did was I decided to pay attention to what I was doing with my life and my business. I had to realize that I must make changes with my mind.

Many times we just want someone else to lead our lives and tell us what we need to do. Really this is just an excuse to be lazy with our mind and not think for our selves.

I had to develop new habits. I had to stop listening to people who did not have the financial and spiritual results I wanted in my life. I had to start learning and surrounding myself with people who had the lifestyle and the happiness that I so desperately worked hard to attain over a period of 8 years.

I started paying attention to the world, to technology and the cutting edge marketing strategies that the big companies were implementing.

I began making more money implementing these strategies in my own business.

I started paying attention to current trends and picking up on patterns that probably the top.01% of the world pay attention to. I started paying attention to how technology altered our behavior as human beings and how we became reliant on social media to express ourselves.

I began to tap into my potential. I began to finally allow myself to become creative, innovative and truly be the maverick that I am.  I’ve always been a person that did not want to follow the crowd. I always believed if everyone if thinking alike, then no one’s thinking much.

I was always a thinker and a believer in my ideas and philosophies, but I truly never believed that I could be great. I was trained to follow a system. The system of the masses.  The system of being told what to do and not think for yourself. We are not outright told that but really we are trained that in this manner. You just have to pay attention to the subliminal.

Well I am here to tell you this:  In order for your life to change for the better, you have to change. No one’s going to do it for you!

So this is what I did. I decided to start building a business online. At first I started learning about all this online marketing stuff and how to make money selling info products, etc etc.

I understand there is a lot of money to be made in this industry and I am all for people who want to learn how to build a home based business from home and help other people in the process with their content. I think that’s great.

BUT this was not my passion. I believe people learn better through simulation rather than just through seminars, books, and coaching programs. Trust me I learned a lot from these three forms of education, but or myself I wanted to impact the critical mass.

I wanted to make a huge impact on our planet with products that the everyday people can use. Something that is humanitarian, fun, easy to use, educational, and can help raise awareness.

This was my passion. I wanted to change the world for the better through innovative products.  I went on to co found StrikeUp along with my business partners, and I am currently working on a new startup with one of my business partners to help create a mobile app to help people “GO GREEN”.

My life has completely changed now because of my new path as an entrepreneur. I have now moved back to sunny California and I am building my business from the comfort of my home. Don’t get me wrong I love New York and it will always be my second home, but nothing beats working from the comfort of your home and seeing palm trees out your window.

Here’s what I want you to get out of my story. I am no one special. I am just a guy who finally broke free of all the limitations bestowed upon us in this world and is pursuing his passion.  I challenge you took look within you and find the strength that has always been there, to create CHANGE in your life. With CHANGE come infinite possibilities and infinite opportunities.

I challenge you to pursue your passion. Trust me, with today’s technology and the internet, you can make more than you could ever imagine pursuing what you love.
